Apparently, medical students often perform pelvic exams on anesthetized female patients at teaching hospitals. A woman who comes in for an appendectomy may have a group of med students perform completely unrelated exams on her while she's under, without her knowledge or consent. In any other setting, this would be sexual assault. Just shocking to read this article...
